As a music fan I think it's time I return to a facebook favourite which has been on hiatus for a year or so, 'track of the day'. Pretty self explanatory really, I post a favourite track which I'm digging or stands out on the day. Who knows, you might find a new band you like, new track that you dig or something to rant about being the single worst piece of music you've ever heard.

Florence + The Machine - Kiss With A Fist How out and out fit is Florence Welch here? This is the first time I've ever seen this video and after years now of deliberating the eternal question 'Is Florence hot?' the answer is whole heartedly YES. The cheeky little minx!

The Music - GetawayI first heard this track in 2001 and it blew me away. After that I followed this band religiously, every track, every album, remix and website entry. They went AWOL for a few years then hit us with a third studio album which lacked the balls the original did but still packed a punch. A forth album was to be released in August of this year but in September the band broke up. They play 4 gigs then they thats it. So after a fond 10 years this is a nod to an AWESOME band. Checkout their self titled first album if you like the track above, every track is EPIC! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ydq_Jyu99W4&feature=relatedHow 21st century Led Zeppelin is this?

Lisa Mitchell - See you when you get hereLisa Mitchell is an artist I have whole heartedly been in love with for about 3 years now. Her music is written with total heart, total soul and she has an ability to remind any sound she records where musics roots lay. She is also stupidly cute. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bvjettKHMc&feature=related "Like my dress? It's got a little tiger on it..."

Kasabian - Switchblade smile It's a total mash of about 10 different sounds and seems to cover Kasabians reign from the days of Saracuse right through to slamming fire down the throats of a couple of billion listeners. At first I heard it and wasn't sure what to think so I went back and listened to the first album, the corresponding B-sides and unreleased alt versions of earlier tracks such as Cutt Off. These are what I consider the glory days. The sound was perfect. Switchblade smiles drops hints of that. The vocals and heavy snyth have admittedly evolved with the departure of Karloff midway through Empire but there is enough of that signature sound to remind you this is Kasabian. The marching beat is EPIC, a nod to West Ryder. All in all this is once again Kasabian evolved. This is the next chapter. When Karloff departed they lost the essence which made up the complete sound. It's like Subzero playing without Nath at the back, Brooks no longer two steps behind me tape side or Rich no longer holding the teabags... so on and so forth as I name drop everyone of you instrumental brothers under the banner. It's the same team and life goes on but what makes up who we are IS the group as one and what we offer as individuals. Karloff was the grunge. He offered so much grunge in fact that it stuck all of Serges made riffs and bipolaresque turns together. He used it all to produce coherent tracks. Their sound will never be what it was, but what it is is something that is done right. Something new and done with total conviction. Come September Velociraptor! will be hitting our shelves and we'll see just how much heart and soul is echoed into every word, beat and riff. This is Kasabian. BOOOOMMMM! Can you feel it comin'?

Haha I did that for about 2 years funnily enough but it was too much effort actually acquiring a track everyday as apposed to when I feel like digging a track for the day! If I grab time I promise to try brosph! And hey, you sound add to the list bro! I'll change the title! I love sharing music, there's nothing more rewarding than being introduced to a new band/artist or soundtrack thanks to a friend so if you ever want to throw a gaming soundtrack or single release up by all means! Everyone

Metric - Gold Guns Girls As many of you know, I ADORE this band! They're Canadian gold! This track has me by the nads at the moment. That first riff is cool, vocals by Emily sweet... then it gets faster... then it gets heavier... THEN IT HITS YOU MAN. 60 seconds on the clock, just gets my blood pumping.
