Well I think I'll stick one in then Machine Gun - Portishead This was on the Metro: Last Light trailer, sequel to the cracking Metro 2033. This track just tickled me the right way especially when combined with the trailer. BTW, couldn't get to training recently as we're rather busy at the new site at the moment :/ hopefully it'll calm down *wishes*

Good man Rich! Portishead are a cracking band, check out 'Roads' by them too! Amazing song, it's from the debut album, Dummy.
I don't so much have a track of the day as a Band of the day today. I came across these guys a few months back and they are officially incredible! I NEED to see these guys live. They are called The Heavy.
The following tracks are my favourite so far although I'm sure there will be more. Short Change Hero is in my top 50 of all time. It's just an incredible song. so in track of the day tradition:
The Heavy - Big bad wolf
The Heavy - Short Change Hero
The Heavy - How You Like Me Now?

Oh forgot to mention Rich, that particular video of Machine Gun is cuts from a film called Tetsuo. We had to study it in Uni when I was there in 1882, the film is terrible...

Regarded by many one of the finest concert performances ever.
Latin based rock band Santana were mostly unknown prior to Woodstock appearance and were only booked to play due to there manager being the concert promoter......lucky eh !!!
The Kinks. Beautiful song.

Mike your music taste rocks mate! Seriously! Zeppelin rock too much. Personally my Zeppelin tracks will always be the following, admittedly they are obvious choices being as popular as they are but they totally took my music taste in an awesome direction so they naturally hold a very dear place in my heart: (Plus they rock so bad it's almost painful) Loving the nod to the Manc scene, my mates and myself used to request Stone Roses whenever we were in the old Twisted Wheel, we generally requested I wanna be adored or fools gold and try to dance like Ian Brown but to be fair we were fighting a losing battle as we'd of had to consume about 500mg of Heroin a day to come anywhere close to such epic moves. I tend to still bounce around like Bez from the Mondays nowadays still anyhow so all is cool. Oh and apparently, from what I've heard anyway... Carlos Santana is actually the earthly vessel for the second coming of Christ and intends to wipe out the anti-christ (Justin Beiber) with guitar riffs of Godly proportions. I've got a couple to post up today! They've all cropped up throughout the day and as such deserve a bit of air time on our collection (by the way this thread is turning into AWESOME, love music shares) Golden Earring - Radar LoveJimmy Eat World - KillBit of a soft git american garage teen romance BS track but it's Jimmy Eat World. The tracks a nice, mellow play and they rock (The middle is the ULTIMATE party track besides Jump Around by House of Pain) and it played earlier when the playlist was on shuffle I, Monster - Daydream in blue

One more... ;D
Hard-Fi - I shall overcome An AWESOME band of the past decade who have broken through the proverbial crusty, sun baked coat of turd that is current popular music. They popped up on the shuffle after the above contribution...
Audioslave - Cochise Oh man... okay... three more. Another INCREDIBLE band hit the shuffle. Mike, you might really dig these guys if you don't already.
Audioslave - Like a stone

Cheer's....I could post up Zep's whole discography but i didn't want to bog the thread down with just one band/artist.
This song take's me right back to the mid 90's......great days
First heard this from a then unknown Oasis on the Jame's Whale channel 4 TV show a couple of weeks prior to it's official release back in the early 90's.
Absolutely love the Rolling stones especially the "street fighting years" between 1968-72. This song actually made the Vietnam war "cooler".
Jimi Hendrix.....got into Hendrix in a big way back in the late 80's still have all his LP's and then the CD revolution happened and i ended up replacing them all with CD's as you did back then, doubt i'll ever sell any of my Hendrix collection. Originally a Bob Dylan song but Jimi did it justice and it still is one of my favorite Hendrix numbers.

Came across this nugget a couple of months ago, never really bothered to listen to any Traffic stuff until then, you live and learn.
Neil Young can do no wrong in my book, his music is beautifully written and performed.
Another band that played a large part in my musical quest during the 90's and a great David bowie cover and a better version in my opinion....but only just. I loved nirvana's MTV unplugged session.....class
I can close my eye's and forget about my problems with this little beauty.
Loved DK back in my scooter days......

I am LOVING this!!! You're introducing me to new material I've never heard before. I'm going to sit back and have a listen in a while and pop back to have a natter My pleasure,i was sadly very narrow minded about music in my early 20's but as i got older my horizons broadened somewhat wider.....it's a age thing as i listen to music nowadays i never thought i would give the time of day too back then. The Madchester sound of the late 80's early 90's was probably the most defining music for me. The Happy Monday's he greatest dance band of all time.........sheer poetry

The Offspring - Pay the man This is a pretty unknown track from The Offspring and my personal favourite.
From the first half of the track with sound which takes a pretty awesome leaf out of 'The Doors for Dummies' you're then thrown into an EPIC rock anthem... tune in at 4.50. Oh and they hit us with a daft version of Pretty fly as a bonus at the end. AWESOME.
