This has been taken directly from kotaku.com link: kotaku.com/5801226/the-modern-warfare-3-files-exclusive-first-details-on-the-biggest-game-of-2011The Modern Warfare 3 Files: Exclusive First Details on the Biggest Game of 2011 Brian Crecente — Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is coming Nov. 8, 2011, Kotaku has learned, delivering with it mammoth battles that engulf a dozen cities around the world including New York, Paris and London. Multiple sources have shared details of the game's story, art, sounds and game modes with Kotaku, noting that the game will reshape the landscape of the Call of Duty franchise, bringing an impressive number of eclectic settings, deep multiplayer gaming and a story that ties up nearly all loose ends from previous titles, including the final moments of key figures in the series' history. While we haven't seen the game in action ourselves, we've gone to great lengths to nail down as much as possible the veracity of our sources. We believe that the imagery and chief details are accurate. That doesn't mean things can't change before release, but this appears to be a full run down of where Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software is on Modern Warfare 3 as they add the final polishing touches. The game opens moments after the cliffhanger ending of Modern Warfare 2 with the U.S. struggling to stave off a surprise Russian attack. The single-player campaign will ping-pong players around the world as they take on the multiple throwaway roles as a Russian Federal Protective Services agent, SAS Operative, tank gunner, and AC-130 gunner as well as key characters from previous installments and new recurring characters. The game will feature about 15 missions, kicking off with the invasion of Manhattan by a Russian force and wrapping up with a final encounter in Dubai. The plot, as described, seems to be keeping with developer Infinity Ward's habit of delivering complex, short sequences punctuated by lots of gunfire and scene changes. The game also has players take control of several vehicles, returning gamers to the AC-130 gunship as a gunner and plopping them down in a tank as part of a U.S. Armored Division. The single-player campaign, which appears to wrap up most of the unanswered questions and character fates of the first two Modern Warfare titles, also introduces new characters who appear to be destined for future Modern Warfare games, especially two Delta Force operatives codenamed "Frost" and "Sandman". Multiplayer in the game returns with a chunky list of playable maps as well as two types of Spec Ops modes: "Survival" and "Mission". Activision, the series' publisher, still hasn't officially unveiled any details about the game, though executives have said that a new Call of Duty game was coming this year. Last year's Call of Duty: Black Ops, developed by Treyarch, sold more than 7 million copies in the first 24 hours and within six weeks reached $1 billion in sales. Survival mode is supposed to follow in the tracks of 'nazi zombies' of COD, 'swarm' of Gears of War and Fire Team engagement 'Defence' of Operation Flashpoint Red River. All offer a defensive position which must be protected against waves of ever increasing AI operated enemies. All I know is if this is the case, the SZ and CR Crew will never need another game mode ever again. This is EXACTLY what we've been crying out for!!!

UPDATE : Packed with 15 levels set in locations around the world, from Manhattan to the catacombs of Paris, Modern Warfare 3's near-future campaign looks to be an experience that will top anything seen before in a Call of Duty game.
Multiplayer, too, seems to be shaping up to be an experience packed with new maps, experiences and ways to game.
Sources tell Kotaku that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will have as many as 20 multiplayer maps, though it's unclear if some will be cut before release or perhaps sold later as expansion packs. The game will also include a powerful mix of mission-based and survival Special Ops modes. While the mission-based levels will be designed like the ones made popular in Modern Warfare 2, we're told, the survival maps will have players fighting until they're overcome by increasingly difficult waves of enemies.

Online retailer Amazon have listed the 8 November 2011 release date on their website and have sent customers an e-mail encouraging pre-orders for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
Publisher Activision are yet to officially reveal the release date for Modern Warfare 3, but a 'leaked' promotional poster uncovered by the Australian arm of games site IGN also specified 08.11.11.
Activision are yet to show Modern Warfare 3 --the follow-up to 2009's Modern Warfare 2 which sold 7 million copies on its first day alone-- in action but have released a handful of teaser trailers to stoke excitement. Last week, US video games blog Kotaku published a huge amount of apparently leaked details on the first person shooter, including modes and even a story outline. Robert Bowling, Creative Strategist of Infinity Ward, the developer behind the game, said on his Twitter account ""A lot of hype & a lot of leaked info on #MW3, some still accurate, some not. To avoid spoiling the experience, I'd wait for the real reveal."
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will most likely follow in the footsteps of last year's interim game in the Call of Duty series, Black Ops, as the biggest video game of the year. Black Ops has surpassed $1bn (£625m) worth of sales and became the best selling entertainment item of 2010 in the UK, outselling DVDs and music. It will, however, face staunch competition in the form of EA's Battlefield 3, a similarly themed military FPS.

I'm liking your thinking. I wonder what they'll do for the special edition packs? We've had night vision goggles and a remote control bomb... answers on the back of a postcard kiddies.

Bottle of Vodka would be awesome! I'd settle for an AA12 though! Oooh I wonder if Ghost (I still reckon he was Gaz) will make a return to this one? Here's a one for you, an un-tapped market!!! WHY IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND DIVINE have they not made a COD MW toy range? I'm talking Action Man style dolls, those mini micro playsets that are usually a battle fortress or a characters head or something that open up to reveal little rooms and the likes, you know, the ones with spring loaded rockets that are lost within 10 minutes of being unboxed and are NEVER actually used by kids to simulate actual firing of said projectile because the spring launch has about as much effectiveness as an American attempting irony. They could do C130's, Russian snow base etc... How class would the action men for youngsters be too? 'Captain John "Soap" MacTavish TASK FORCE 141 Boxed set! Now with 36 points of articulation - Comes with Russian Juggernaut figure, mounted sentry gun and combat accessories - FREE LIMITED EDTION PERKS CARDS INSIDE'Lets face it, COD is targeting the adult audience BUT like all 'heavy on the blood, sex and violence videogames' the kids are in on the act, steadily desensitising themselves for the day when they turn 16 and head off with their M16 in hand to bother the poor residents of a country that ends in 'stan. When Terminator 2 came out they released a cracking toy range to compliment the film. I couldn't watch the movie but that didn't stop me confusingly killing Teenage mutant Ninja Turtle toys and a worn down he-man with my freshly shot up Arnie. Ironically after his latest story in the press he's not so much the terminator as the sperminator nowadays... anyhow... yeah...

Do you not find that actionmen and the likes are of a dieing breed now? Basicly when I was younger they were at their peek, they supplied them with circular saws and Dr X. had a stomach that you could blow a hole right through. These days, in order to stop them from playing with aggressive and sensitive material they dulled them down, making them boring to play with and thus going extinct. Then back to your point, because they dont have these toys to play with, they go on their xbox/playstation and pick up the game which is far worse in my opinion. You have, in theory, taken the limit of the kids imagination to think up a grusome way to die, to telling them how people will die and how much blood and brain matter will come out when they do.
Kids will always be able to view sensitive material these days no matter how hard you try and stop it, so just bring something out that limits it but keeps it fun.......... Oh and most of all, keep kids, kids for aslong as possible......

It seemed fitting Haha I love your theory, take the kids away from the blood, gore, violence, adult themes and weaponology and provide them with the means to imagine blood, gore, violence, adult themes and weaponology! Perfect! Sounds the double of my childhood to be fair

I found that until I actualy learned what a guy with half his head missing looked like, there wasn't a chance in he'll I could replicate it with action men! There's a Bin Laden joke in there somewhere but I canne see it. A bit of red/pink plasticine and a drop of fake blood works wonders! My brothers and I 'converted' a couple of action men into zombies when we were playing once. They looked pretty awesome at the time, on reflection they they just looked like someone had taken Action Men and caked them with plasticine but imagination is key. Back on course, that's pretty sweet Tescos is taking orders, as you say they'll be price matching. That said I can't imagine the price will go down significantly. Fastest selling game of all time? Chances are Activision will be locking down on the RRP.
