I actualy remember a lot of those originals mike, my gran used to have videos of sooty and sweep, the one where they run the marathon lol and I used to watch most the others about 20 years ago. Postman pat also, my nephew is into tv quite a bit and it's amazing how crap cartoons are these days! Tom and jerry is ruined because they can't use weapons anymore! Similar with scooby doo, now I watched these as a kid and I'm fine. I'm a true believer that if a child sees it in moderation then it reduces the need to have to go out and find out for themselves

Haha moderation!!! Does that mean when we had Poppy playing Nazi Zombies with us the other night we were pushing the boundaries? Stewart, I have to say I've never heard of those ones to be fair but there's a decade between our growing up years so if I was familiar with them maybe that's the time to worry. They sound out and out bonkers bro I loved sooty and rainbow Mike. I watched them whenever I got in from school. I was pretty young at the time but thanks to the wonders of VHS still grew up with my favourite episodes. Button Moon and Thomas the Tank too. The days when Ringo Starr's name popped up at the start of every episode, the fat controller was just that, the numbers on the sides of the engines were actually in numerical order and if they were good they got 'a nice new coat of paint'. Ooooh Jamie, we're forgetting the great yellow one... Nope, not Bart Simpson, I am of course referring to Pat Sharp of Fun House!

Oh nearly forgot, Worzel Gummidge used to scare the browns right out of me. If I remember rightly he was on Sunday afternoons/evenings when the folks used to watch it. I prefered the A-Team on Saturday afternoons followed by the news then the Birthday bit where they'd read out and show off home made cards for nippers. It was sweet!

I thought worzel gummidge was even more scary when he changed heads and if i remember correctly he have a rival scarecrow that was always after the affections of aunt sally he scared the bejesus out of me.
Catweasel was another great kids tv series i remember, the main character was the same old chap that played the scarecrow maker in Worzel gummidge.
Doctor Who with Tom Baker now there's a flashback,i can remember watching it from behind a couch most of the time when i was 7 or 8 years old.
kids of the 1970's had loads of weird sh!t to watch that was made in the late 60's and early 70's and had very abstract or psychedelic slant to it.
I can still remember watching all those badly dubbed tv programs from Europe that were always shown during the summer holidays like Heidi and one that was based on some 17th century musketeers that was made in either Spain or Portugal.
